Summary[edit] Description: The Greater Double-collared Sunbird, Cinnyris afer at Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden. There is a circular patch of yellow aloes with a neatly carved bench on the inside, and if you sit there for a few minutes and remain still and quiet, you will get these, white bellied sunbirds, amethyst sunbirds, and sometimes a few other birds as well. This is the time of the year, as the aloes flower in winter May-August. Date: 21 May 2011, 16:38. Source: The Greater Double-collared Sunbird, Cinnyris afer.
