Summary[edit] Description: The Southern Ladybird was deliberately introduced into New Zealand from Tasmania in 1977 as a biological method of controlling the eucalyptus tortoise beetle. This one was photographed on a swanplant milkweed where the resident oleander aphids seem to be keeping it well fed and contented. Date: 18 January 2013, 12:30. Source: Southern Ladybird.
