Description: Lagopus muta Deutsch: Das Alpenschneehuhn (Lagopus muta) ist eine Vogelart aus der Familie der Fasanenartigen (Phasianidae). In Mitteleuropa ist das Alpenschneehuhn ein Eiszeitrelikt, das in einem eng umgrenzten Gebiet der Alpinstufe (ab 1800m) ein verbreiteter bis häufiger Brut- und Jahresvogel ist.
