Summary[edit] Description: Damoiselle Crane (Grus virgo) is a Winter visitor to India. They come from their nesting grounds in Central Eurasia. One small village Khichan in Jodpur District Rajasthan is obviously theri favourinte place in India. Over ten thousand of them flock to this village every Winter. The villagers in turn love and welcome the visitors as long lost family. The villagers distribute around 300 Kg of grains as feed for the visitors.
