Description:

Leaves with permanent (up to the fall), sparse hairs on the petioles and below – along the main vein, twigs with fine down (but male flower axes glabrous!). I've identified this group of one mature and several young trees, to the best of my ability, as Populus nigra subsp. caudina. Margin of error for this case is between the forementioned diagnosis and Populus nigra.
