Summary[edit] Description: English: Queensland display at the British Empire Exhibition in London, 1924. Tropical Trophy designed by H.W. Mobsby for the Queensland Court, British Empire Exhibition, Wembley, 1924. This exhibit was on a 16ft octagonal base with glass cases on each face, depicting pearl divers, sugar-cane cultivation and tobacco growing. A variety of tropical products were also displayed including rice, fibres, flax, spices, herbs, arrowroot, rubber, cocoa, cotton, coconuts, cinnamon, vanilla and camphor. Marine products exhibited included 5cwt of beche-de-mer which was specially prepared at Thursday Island, and Mr James Clark of Brisbane exhibited one ton of pearl shell and £5,000 worth of pearls.
