According to Michelsen, [doi.org/10.1111/j.1365-3113.1980.tb00416.x The Anthomyia pluvialis complex in Europe (Diptera, Anthomyiidae)], these confluent spots and the fact that the median grey area on the scutellum continues to the base identify this as A. procellaris.
