Purple swamphen (porphyrio porphyrio poliocephalus) & chick
Description:
The contrast of colour between mother and chick is stunning. Mother very striking, while the chick is nondescript, however, the beauty of nature and evolution is clearly seen here, when the chick hides in the muddy swamp, it is totally camouflaged and their survival rates are great.
