Summary[edit] Description: Candlestick fungus (Xylaria hypoxylon). Per Wikipedia: "the candlesnuff fungus, carbon antlers, or the stag's horn fungus. The fruit bodies, characterized by erect, elongated black branches with whitened tips, typically grow in clusters on decaying hardwood.
