Description:

Summary[edit] Description: English: Plate from Zoological illustrations, Volume 3, 2nd series. Leilus Orientalis = Papilio Rhipheus Stoll in Cramer. Accepted as Chrysiridia rhipheus[1]. Swainson argued that this was a different insect to P. Rhipheus Drury figured (as Rhipheus dasycephalus) in File:Zoological Illustrations Volume III Series 2 131.jpg, and Jacob Hübner gave it the replacement name Chrysiridia riphearia. The distinction does not seem to be currently recognized. See [2]. Date: published 1829. Source: Zoological illustrations, or, Original figures and descriptions of new, rare, or interesting animals, selected chiefly from the classes of ornithology, entomology, and conchology, and arranged according to their apparent affinities, Volume 3, 2nd series (1829). Author: William Swainson.
